surreal

It’s Friday night now and I only have 5 more days until my hubby comes home! He’ll be home for 5 days then have to fly back out to Alberta :(. I gotta tell ya…sometimes it’s nice being here by myself BUT …..it’s really hard to parent 2 young kids alone ;(. Right now…as we speak….my daughter who is 4 years old, is having a herrnia upstairs! I’ve asked her for 2 days to tidy up her room but she goes up there and sits on her bed or plays until I call her down for a snack, lunch, or dinner (which ever it might be at the time) Sooo…today…I told her this morning that if her room wasn’t cleaned by bed time…she would lose her sucky. Ok…I know what you’re thinking. “What is a 4 year old doing with a sucky!” My son (age 5) has a teddy he loves to sleep with…her….it’s her sucky. She ONLY has it at bed time but it’s her comfort. What can I say. Anyway….she procrastinated ALL day and made ZERO head way with her room. My son even offered to help her! Bed time rolled around and I looked at her room. It was untouched ;(. I know she can tidy her room on her own and put things where they belong because she’s done it since she was 3. Needless to say…I had to stick to my guns. I calmly told her that I gave her many chances and I have no choice but to take it. She’s upstairs right now screaming bloody murder and my heart is being torn appart. This is one of those times where I need Chris’s (My hubby) strength. He doesn’t have a problem listening to it. If he was here…I could go for a walk and refresh. I know…long drawn out blog. Anyway…I can’t wait till he’s home!
